Last week, I was surprised and humbled to be given a peer blogger award, the Sunshine Award, by my friend and fellow Mental Illness Blogger, Addy, who writes one of the most raw and real blogs I have found about living with the challenges of mental illness. Please check out his blog myjourneywithdepression.wordpress.com.
The Sunshine Award really made my day and I’m grateful to be included among the list of blogs that Addy finds inspiring.
Thank you so much!
As with all awards, the Sunshine Award comes with a few rules:
- Include the award’s logo in a post or on your blog
- Answer 10 questions about yourself
- Nominate 10-12 other fabulous bloggers
- Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blogs, letting them know they have been nominated
- Share the love and link the person who nominated you.
Ten Questions
Favorite color: Cherry Red
Favorite animal: Dog – they have a way of knowing your soul
Favorite number: 13 (so very lucky)
Favorite non-alcoholic drink: Strong black coffee or Iced green tea
Prefer Facebook or Twitter? Twitter – it’s been a great way to establish a network of contacts and friends who are living with and supporting others with mental illness
My passion: My passion has really emerged around advocacy. I’m so glad that I can share my stories, my lessons, my tools and lend an ear or shoulder for those who need support but aren’t sure where to turn. I also love to write, practice yoga, run, and listen to live music
Prefer getting or giving presents: I have learned to enjoy both. I love to find a gift that I know is “perfect” for the recipient but I have learned to enjoy being the recipient as well.
Favorite pattern: Circles
Favorite day of the week: Monday – I really don’t have a favorite, but Monday can be a “reset” button, the start of a new week, a chance to do it better than the week before
Favorite flower: Gerber Daisy (which interestingly enough is the logo for the Sunshine Award) 🙂
My Nominations
