Sometimes the only way out is up
The latest news from Amy White:
May is halfway over and I really cannot believe how quickly time is flying this year! Are you feeling the same way? There feels like such a blur of time and space for me and I often catch myself not only wondering what day of the week it is, but what month as well.
Last weekend, here is the US, we celebrated Mother’s Day. Those of you who have been following my journey for a while know that this is a tough day of the year for me. My relationship with my children has been strained for several years and this “holiday” has served as a bittersweet reminder of my motherhood mis-adventures.
I know I’m not the only one who has had challenges with Mother’s day. There are many clients and friends that I’ve spoken to over the past year, who’ve been dealing with similar challenging emotions when it comes to celebrating Mother’s Day. If you find this to be a tough holiday, please know that I understand and send you big love! Even though the holiday has passed, I know firsthand that when there are difficulties in our most precious relationships (or those that we believe should be most precious) it doesn’t only hurt one day a year.
This year, however, has been a bit different for me. You see there is healing occurring within my relationship with my children. Healing that a year ago I could not have imagined possible. As I’ve been contemplating this over the past couple of weeks, one statement that continues to play over in my head is “what a difference a year makes.”
This time last year, I couldn’t have imagined climbing up and out of the despair that I was feeling around the lost relationship with my boys and yet, here I am climbing out one step at a time. So if you are feeling worn down and overwhelmed by the thought that things will never change (whatever situation you may be facing right now), please know that A LOT can change in a year.
I’m here for you. Please feel free to email me at AskAmyWhite@gmail.com if you need support or if you’d like to share your own personal journey with me. I’d love to hear from you. Keep reading below for information about an upcoming radio interview I’ll be doing on News for the Soul Radio.
PS – No official release date for Closer to Paradise: A Mother’s Journey through Crisis and Healing BUT things are really moving forward! I cannot wait to share this book with you all 🙂
